During emergencies, the system can efficiently and effectively direct those evacuating towards emergency exits and away from hazards by using pacing lights. Markers can serve as a backup to primary illumination devices and connect to emergency evacuation systems. In road tunnel applications this system can offer dual functionality of evacuation route lighting and vehicle guidance.
